3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, - AUG 6, 2012Tap (SOPP2012, Turku)
Fairly full roast aroma, but again (after 3 other Kuninkaankartano beers) it’s minerally - it must be the local water. Full body, rich roast, but a bit thin and flat. Finish has more roast, leaves a pleasant feel in the mouth. Dissapointing after the look - so dark, such a large tight viscous beige head. Adequate, but never saying "drink (more of) me". Finished the glass, so better than the previous 3. As it warms I’m happier that it deserved the 3.3.

Pours pitch black with a nice smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, some yeasty and herbal notes. Taste is malty, roasty and slightly hoppy with some herbal notes and some off-flavors. Finish is smooth and malty with some roasty notes. Okay, but feels like something is a bit off here.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 jookos (761) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 26, 2012
Black, with slight tan head. Soft, full flavoured roasted malts, some chocolate, yeasty flavors. Some licorice, anis even. Spices and herbal notes though. Tasty, but a raw ale. Soft, and full, but with the yeasty, unfiltered characters you find in homebrews and alike.
