Chile’s best-regarded beer - and that’s why I bought it while recently in Santiago. Sadly, Chile’s beer selection is poor, but this one beer does the trick and the finer hotels generally carry it in their bars because it is so much better than the pale lagers Chile brews. Thick and malty, dark in the glass, flavorful and lightly sweet with hints of alcohol. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown color with a quickly dissipating white head. Very nice aroma of malt, cinnamon, and caramelized sugar with a touch of smoke. Slightly bitter flavor with light roasted notes. Very clean aroma and flavor. Something in the finish is slightly off. Somewhat thin-bodied. The flavor didn't quite live up to the promise of the aroma. This is a fairly nice beer though.

Dark chestnut. Aroma shows sugar, molasses, and light smoke. The palate is quite smokey, with dark malt undertones. Light body detracts - more unfermentables and you'd really have something, but it is a strong beer by South American standards.

Hallelujah! Finally a good beer in Chile. I let my bottle warm up to almost room temperature before drinking. Drink this beer colder and you will miss out on almost all of its flavor. It is usually served ice cold. The smokey malt aroma let me know that I was in for a treat. Poured a clear ruby amber with a tan head. Smokey malt flavor and nice smokey aftertaste. Moderate carbonation.

Mild chocolate flavour and aroma, looks the part. Slightly volatile on the tongue, but overall a very drinkable beer.

Shockingly good for a Chilean beer.
After drinking bottle after bottle of lager,
this was a treat.
