2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lagunitasfan (1290) - San Diego, USA - FEB 7, 2012
A bottle brought home for me from Chile by my aunt Suzy. Copper red with chunks floating. Tiny head. Nose vanilla and cherry. Taste is sweet and oxidized. Wonder how long this was on the shelf in Chile before it came to the U.S.

Smells of honey and caramel. Taste of strong alcohol - a bit overdone. Caremlized malt aromas and a medium body with a little alcohol bitterness at the end. A decent beer but costs far more than its worth in Chile and Argentina where I saw it a lot. The other Kunstmanns are cheaper and almost as good. Picked up a bottle in the Santiago Airport flying back to Canada and I think the lady ripped me off two dollars to boot. Drank it on an airplane to NY wondering why they let me on with a glass bottle. The stewardess gave me a stern finger wagging when I gave her the empty 500 ml.

Brown, medium head retention, caramel, smokey, mild bitterness. I think is one of the best beers Kunstmann has, it has a good balance.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Maybe it had to do with having it on Christmas eve or something, but I found it very pleasing. Not much head, copper dark red colour. Solid caramel malt flavour with hints of chocolate and toffee. Flowery aromas. Much better than I was expecting, really.

I love this beer. It mixes the drink easyness of industrial beers with a lot of complex aromas and flavors. Good brownish head, dark copper color, strong cereal aroma and toffee, and some sweetness in plate, along with caramel an toasted grains.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KingGambrinus (117) - Santiago, CHILE - AUG 16, 2008
(Bottle). Clear amber colour with a firm medium head. Deep aroma of caramel malt, some honey, candy, and grains. Flavor is mainly strong and malty, also slightly sweet, fruity and alcoholic. Medium body and average carbonation, slick texture. Bitter end. It’s a excellent strong ale made in Chile, very different from the Torobayo.

Tight tan head on a clear amber body. Burnt caramel on the aroma but not too strong, rings of lacing, taste seems fairly balanced smooth mainly malty taste.
