COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Cerveja chilena presente do meu amigo Michael.

Bottle. Clear amber, smallish head. Sweet, malty nose with hints of spices. Pronounced honey sweetness, a bit spicy. Overall too sweet.

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.

Clear amber honey brown colour; Half finger head and soapy white foam which lasts about 1 minute; Small sticky lacing with active carbonation; Strong sweet musty aroma of honey which can be smelt half a foot away, with light malt, chewed tobacco, steamed mui choi (dry pickled Chinese mustard), and light wet cardboard; Medium sweet taste of very thin malt, with muted honey, sugar, steamed mui choi, faint wet cardboard, and hint of grassy hops; Light body, watery palate; Taste profile is sweet-soaked and slightly cloying thin ale base, with rather restrained honey (presumably from the Chilean Ulmo tree) tone and sugary, musty mui choi palate. Maybe the QC has problems; Wet cardboard is lurking in the backgraound but not annoying. Hmmm… Hoppiness is zero in nose and hint of grassy hops in taste. Only light sweet musty finish to close out. Wet after taste, very easy and pretty sweet to mouth.

Comments: This beer boasts the use of the rare Ulmo honey, but the quality is below average - cardboard background, nose of tobacco splits, and rather plain sugar taste is quite off putting - the musty mui choi factor is totally unexpected, though. Not to say it’s comforting as it may be infected, but its musty smell and taste is strangely attractive as I used to ate them all year round. So before they have better QC and use better honey in the brew, this is only half decent. Worth a try for new country tick. Heh!

I'm not a fan of Honey Ales. I guess it's a personal thing because I don't like the honey in beer specifically. But what I can say is that it had a very clear honey aroma. It tasted quite well when it comes to honey. Hops weren't really a thing to notice during and after the taste. If you are a sickly sweet person, then you could find something in this beer.

Color ambar/miel oscuro con tono rojizo. Aroma ligero a miel y lupulo floral.

AtronSeige (646) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - OCT 6, 2013
Aroma: Honey, wood, tobacco, Appearance: Clear, dark copper. Fizzy, long lasting, white head. Fair lacing. Flavour: Honey, wood, white chocolate, Palate: Medium-full body, soft carbonation. Overall: The taste is better than the smell, but it is too sweet for my liking. 330 ml bottle, poured. 21A. Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer

Sweet, very honeyish and floral. The malt character mainly supports the honey. No real hop character and a sweet, honeyish finish. At first, it seems ok, but as it warms it reveals itself to be lacking balance. Too sweet, and not as enjoyable as most of the Eastern European honey lagers with which it bears superficial similarity.

(330cc bottle, BB 25/04/13) Pours a clear orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of honey, grain, and herbs. Flavor of honey, florals, herbs, and grain.
