My Bottom Line:
Prominent toastiness and tropical fruit subtleties are prolonged into caramel and citrusy tartness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy dark amber.
-The soft prickling of carbonation and relative dryness makes for a polished mouthfeel.
-Spicy, phenolic edges increase this brew’s otherwise balanced strangeness.
-This is probably the only Kupiškio brew I didn’t really love.
-The finish is dry and lightly tart.

Bottle sampled at Dan, thanks. Thick beige head. Red-golden color,. Dry malty aroma but also a bit of sulphur. Dry taste nd a litle harsh bitterness and a small body.

0.75l bottle wrapped in paper from Baltic Branch Dover. Hazy deep Brown colour with a huge, creamy, very stable Off-white Head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied, Lots of roasted malts with a burnt character, burnt popcorn, dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Dry hop flavours and lingering finish with strong retronasal aroma. Superb!

In short: A weird but entertaining mix-bag of stuff. Strangely drinkable
How: Bottle 750ml, corked. Consumed fresh the day of purchase. Split 4-way
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose is kind of weird with a bit of old dirty barn, strong toastiness and fruits. Taste is a mix-bag of stuff, some tart fruits, dry toasted bread crumbs, minerals, a bit of caramel, buttery notes, astringent fruit seeds, more.... This mismatched mix of flavors felt amateurish yet I found it relatively pleasant to drink because it is quite dry and certainly not boring. I’m at work typing my ratings, I just thought about drinking a beer for the hundredth time today and I’m still sober, so apparently it is NOT the thought that counts.

750ml bottle, from an ethnic food store in Scunthorpe. Red brown with a slight haze, thin shortlived white head, low but fine natural condition. Sweet and fruity in the nose with traces of chocolate, quite soft and fruity sweet in the mouth but quickly becoming dry with a chalky bitterness, theres some burnt toffee notes and light chocolate and a big prickle of tingly bitterness but still manages to appear quite smooth, finish is sweet and laced with chocolate powder and a gentl bitterness.

75cl @ Bambalyne Vilnius. Chocolate, alcohol aroma but some fresh forestfeeling took over. Ambercoloured without a head. Taste was burned and caramel, sweet sugary, fizzy and dry finish.

(Rating #4187)

750ml bottle (’stolen’ from the Tikras Alus Real Beer Gathering afterparty, Kaunas)
6 Sweet toffee, milky lacticity, and quite a buttery kick.
4 Before you even open it it’s lovely - corked, caged, and in the paper wrap. Needed pliers, and then a corkscrew to open it. Rich hazy orange, healthy tight beige head.
6 Simple milky/buttery farmhousy bitter. Cakey breadiness, pleanty of earhty bitter hops, a touch sulfury. Well attenuated compared to what the aroma suggested.
4 Full smooth palate, aided by the diacetyl and lactic components, I’m sure. Nice carbonation. Dry earthy bitter finish, liquorice and bark. Late finish back to butter toffee again. Reminds me of one of the better Harveys Bests.
13 Interesting brew, full of character. Nice sulfury Burton snatch.
