Unfiltered deep red chestnut or dark red amber color with slightly caramel small foam. Aromas of traditional Lithuanian dark ale, of caramel malts, crystal malts, falt, dusty and strawy, but really malty in a way like smelling crushed malt. Love it! Palate, medium/light body with heavier malty texture that sits on a tongue maybe even bit sticky. Leaveing nice roasted malt aftertaste.Taste of malt as it is expected for Lithuanian traditional ale, has hints of black rye bread and different grains. Somewhat sweet and light I would say. Overall, nice traditional ale but missing more of the body and heavyness to it would be nicer if it was thicker and harder to drink. But I would buy it again and did really enjoy it!

750 ml paper wrapped bottle from an IKI supermarket, Vilnius. Hazy deep yellow and copper colour. Small white head. Fruity and malty aroma. Sweet malts at first with delicate esters present. Hints of smoke. Soft texture and a velvety moutfeel. Really well balanced. Rich and complex, but at the same time very drinkable. Caramel and raisins. Light smoke in the finish. Spicy hoppy bitterness in the finish. Lovely beer.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy deep red body with visible particles. Spicy toffee and butterscotch aroma with cinnamon and fruit notes. Dry-sweet smoky earthy toffee taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, silky mouthfeel. Dry fruity charcoal smoke aftertaste with spicy herbal toffee notes. Heather honey, too, plus minerals and caramelized sugar. Very complex. Lovely! Full of powerful flavour, yet harmonic and amazingly drinkable. Really grew on me as I drank. This is a winner. (0.75l bottle, from iki extra, Vilnius.)

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2014 Toasty, bready, spicy. Reasonably dry and bitter but quite smooth. There is a sweet floral aroma I don’t quite understand, but I really like it; a bit honey-like. Diacetyl? Strangely, I tried this just after Kupiškio Keptinis and I am quite convinced they are the same beer, despite the fact that the abv is different. Maybe a dilution?

Shared bottle with brother in law. Pours hazy brown with no head. Low carb. The aroma has caramel and Clive. Sweet taste, chewy, hop kick at close. There is some roasted malt in there too. Nice.
