UPDATED: MAY 1, 2013 0.5L Bottle at home. Clear golden beer with a white foam head, Aroma isn’t anything special. Low to Medium Carbonation, Low to Medium Bitterness. A good Kölsch.

Pours a clear yellow colour with a white head. Aroma of grainy malts, butter and some metallic notes. Flavour of grainy malts, grassy hops, some weak herbal notes such as mint, weak citrus and some bread. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a grainy, bitter and herbal finish. Good.

500ml bottle. Pours light gold with a medium head. Aroma is grassy and slightly sweet with floral notes. Taste is sweet and grassy with hints of corn.

Golden colour. Smooth and easy to drink beer with low carbonation and a light sweetness.

Bottle. Sweetish, grainy malty aroma with a whiff of pear and grassy hops. Sweetish taste, rather dry body, light to medium bitter, a bit malty taste, a bit hoppy finish with faint fruity notes. Quite bland but enjoyable summer beer.

Das Oettinger unter den Kölsch-Bieren. Jahrelang das meistgetrunkene Kölsch und dann wurde die Werbung aufgegeben und es ging bergab...Dabei ist es gar nicht sooo schlecht. Ziemlich würzig und überhaupt nicht wässrig wie 90% der Kölsch-Biere. Eher etwas dumpf-herb und daher nur bei reichlich Werbung Massen-kompatibel. Insgesamt Durchschnitt.

Clear yellow with initial decent white foam head. Sadly dissapearing quickly. Soft aroma of barley. Taste is smooth, not outstanding like a Kolsch. Little, dry barley aftertaste. (Velp 201210)

Pale golden pour with a white head. Pretty bland nose. A bit watery, some apple esters, and pale malt. Not much in the way of hops. The flavor is quite light, but has a bit of malt sweetness to it. Some hints of floral hops and yeast. Nice bread sweetness throughout.
