Die Schaumkrone dieser Neuheit hält mittelmäßig, wie es bei Altbier typisch ist, auch die Farbe gefällt und ist typisch. Es riecht süßlich, leicht röstig und herb. Geschmacklich ist es schön malzig, mit einer Spur röstmalz und kombiniert gut mit einer schönen herbe. Ausserdem ist dieses Bier sehr süffig! Im Nachgeschmack wird es dann zusätzlich noch ein bisschen herb-fruchtig. Fazit: Super! Ein tolle Süffigkeit, mit leckeren Aromen verbunden, ein charaktervolles Bier! ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Clear brown beer, good off white head. Light dry palate. Papery dry with a little toffee malt. Dry finish. Meh! Boring and too dry.

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is grains, bread and some mild herbal notes. Flavour is grainy, bready malts, some slight wooden and herbal notes. Quite basic, but also refreshing.

Clear medium yellow amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, bread, keller, dusty, cardboard notes ! Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration, keller, bready. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20111203]

Bottle at Pat’s chriso birthday tasting. Pours clear amber with a big, white head. Nice aroma, bread and toast, light earth. Medium sweet flavor, bread, maybe pumpernickel, toasty dough. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mildly dry finish, light leafy bitterness, bread. Good beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown, firm head. Roasty, earthy and salty. Medium bodied with soft, dense mouthfeel. Pleasant earthy tobacco flavour, long somewhat resiny bitterness. A well made altbier with deep character, yet retaining drinkability.
