Drank on tap at the brewpub in Düsseldorf. Excellent balance between malty and bitterness. Nice bitter/dry final, that calls for more sipping. Elegant red colour with a finely bubbled head. aromas of nutty malts and herbal hops in the nose.

On tap @Schaukelstühlchen (a bar just beside the brewpub which opens a lot earlier). It has got a deep dark brown colour with big steady head and medium body. Nose of nuts and malt. taste like a really nice Ale - nuts, ripe, medium-bitter hops, light malt, ripe fruits, roisins, rum, spices and straw. So delicious, quaffable and refrshing. Enjoyed it a lot and would drink it anytime again.

Flasche. Herrlich.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown, firm head. Roasty, earthy and salty. Medium bodied with soft, dense mouthfeel. Pleasant earthy tobacco flavour, long somewhat resiny bitterness. A well made altbier with deep character, yet retaining drinkability.

(from notes) Draft. faint malt nose and a peppery-rye type bomb, maybe a small bomb, but there. Very faint esters if at all. moderate hop bitterness with a phenomenal malt richness, but not cloying either. Best malt profile I have had in an alt yet. Hop flavor is a bit low compared to the others so far. A complex malt and ester interaction.

Bottle at Pat’s chriso birthday tasting. Pours clear amber with a big, white head. Nice aroma, bread and toast, light earth. Medium sweet flavor, bread, maybe pumpernickel, toasty dough. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mildly dry finish, light leafy bitterness, bread. Good beer.

Draught at Kurzer, May 2013. Rich brown color. Thicker and heavier on the palate than the others I have tried today. Lightly roasted malt. Surprisingly full of flavor and a little sweeter than the others. Some cashew. I am surprised to say this is my favorite alt of the day.
