Blackberry, blueberry nose with toasty caramel accents. Hints of berries, toast and some nice floral notes. This is an interesting beer. Distinctiveness makes it fun. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Bottle, thanks to oh6gdx (Patrik) for sharing. Deep, mainly cloudy copper with ample lacing. Initial aroma is apple. The next layer is earthy hops, raisins, and then beneath that is some pure caramel. It’s a sweet and thick aroma. Very nice creamy palate. The flavors match the aroma. The fruity apple, raisin, and woody character shows nice malts. Has a great tannic finish. oh6gdx (9155), Vasa, Finland

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 30, 2008 Bottle. It pours a hazy, orange-copper body with a quite small beige head leaving nice lacings. When sniffing the brew, I start to wonder if it’s infected, with it’s aromas of citrusy sourness, old wet hay, rotting fruit and chalk. There’s also caramel and fruityness, which seems to be what other people have found. It wasn’t really bad, but certainly nothing I would be proud of. The flavor was much better, but still not what it was intended to be I think, with a slightly sourish, chalky and dusty flavor to follow the sweetness and fruityness that dominated. The beer finished in the same way. Medium body. Hopefully this beer was better out of the brewery before Easter, than it was one and a half month later. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 14, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Myrup. Hazy amber golden with floating impurities and a creamy, beige head. Sweetish, fruity, caramellish nose. Quite full-bodied, sweetish caramel, fruit and a little ashyness. Some bitterness in the finish. Not sure if this was intended as a Bock, but if so it didn’t really come out as such. Still a decent brew though. 270408
