Coal black imperial stout with a heavy roasted flavor. Hop flavor is not particularly marked, something bitter. quite successful. Must be opened with care to to avoid the black beer on the carpet.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Moolesen (39) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2011
Bottle 50cl. Deep black colour with a dark beige head. Complex nose, with hints of chocolate, burned/roasted caramel. The taste is very intense with a typical "black" taste. Don’t kow how to describe it better. There is a remarkable taste of coal which I like. Luckily the finish has a great biterness to comlete a really nice impression. A really good beer if you like Imperial stout

Bottle: Thanks to Fonefan.
Very big vast brown foamy head on top of a black beer.
Smell roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and toffee.
Taste burned malts, bitter, coffee, espresso, deep dark chocolate, some hints of dark spices and fruits. Lot of dark ingredients.
Long bitter aftertaste.
Light watery texture, medium to full body, low carbo and a soft dry mouthfeel.
First swig appeared watery and with a low body but right after this beer gets way better. Full dark chocolate coffee bitter taste. Well balanced!

500. Thanks, Maria! Pours jet black with a dense, creamy burnt tan head that falls quickly to a solid cap of foam. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful smoky roasty dark chocolate nose. Just an absolutely elegant impy stout nose without being hugely powerful or overwhelmingly complex. Not a training wheels impy by any means, but has a clear personality without trying to be a harmonious blend of every conceivable impy personality. Creamy body a bit on the high side of medium. Very roasty, dark, bitter-chocolatey mid-palate. Long ashy finish. This is kind of the Danish answer to Old Raspy in a lot of ways. A great, rewarding, approachable impy that doesn’t insist on beating its chest and jumping around every time somebody walks into the room. Good stuff.
