ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, - JAN 28, 2011
big plastic bottle 2000ml that Marko bought at Russian shop in Zagreb and shared with us.
Cola coloured, minimal off-white head, very sweet caramel nose. Expected sweet stuff but this is even more sweeter. Weak notes of wheat in this "sugar bomb". Hardly drinkable.

A: This one pours a light brown color with some reddish notes and no head. S: Smells strongly of rye with a heavy dosing of toasted bread. A bit more sweet malt from toffee. Lots of fruit aromas, mostly prunes and raisins. There is a slight tang/sourness and some yeast. T: The flavor is very sweet. White table sugar and brown sugar as well as cola. It’s a bit watery with some bread and toffee. Only a mild rye flavor. M: Light bodied with low carbonation. O: Watery but still almost cloyingly sweet.

1L bottle (Random trader in Jaamaturg, Tallinn)
6 Super grainy aroma, real bread, with toasty crusts, I’ve never smelt such a bready modern kvass before. Touch of butter.
4 Deep red, brief foamy head.
6 Super roasty bready taste, even down to the burntess of the crusts, just like the aroma.
3 It’s a bit sweet and sticky, fizzy too, but it still reasonably refreshing. Finish is just the burntess of the crusts.
10 Yes, I know it’s made from concentrates, I’m no fool, but this is so so so bready I’m in love with it, hence the high taste score. But deep down I have to keep my feet on the ground - it’s not quite as good as a proper beer.

21/01 2 l plastic bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured brown body with smaller head and lot of carbonation that put head down immediately. Sweet malty caramel aroma, a bit artificial. Very sweet flavor, pretty boring, only like better coke-like products. Carbonation biting, yet sweet finish. Way too sweet and simple, but still I appreciate those stuff, which I’m sorry that are not imported into my country. I would rather give my kids to drink this than crappy coke-stuff, it’s healthier!

2l bottle from a Russian store in Zagreb, shared with heavy and ogivlado. Poured a dark amber-brown body with a small off white head. Bready sweet caramelly nose, some dry dogfood (yup, 4/4, ffs), sweet. The taste is, you guessed it, sweet. Dog food vs. (?) malt, bearable and doesn’t get all that cloying (compared with the last one I’ve had at least). Very light acidity to keep it drinkable. Ah, dunno. Hard to rate.
