3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ashy, earthy chocolate malt. Blackish brown and still. Sweet chocolate cake flavor, hints of vanilla and dark fruits. Mostly slick but a little crispy. Flavors and weight of porter, aroma and body feel of schwarz. Pretty good stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: Roasty malts, which give off a powdery cocoa, light coffee vibe. A little earthy/herbal with the hops, which are light overall. Appearance: Garnet black, inky pour with a bubbly mocha head that dissipates almost completely. Flavor: Matches the nose; pretty dried out all around; hops are more earthy, almost woody. Palate: Light body, oily-ish texture, very soft carbonation, bitter finish. A little hot. Overall: An above-average Schwarz.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle. Deep and rich, I can see why this could be placed under the Baltic Porter category, even though it explicitly states that it is a Scwarrzbier on the label. Big, doughy brown chocolate, luscious and rich, smooth and clean. Sugary and sweet, but fits the style well here. Easy on the palate still, has that cloudy, doughy lightness. Excellent beer, a Schwarz/Baltic Porter hybrid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small tan head. Dark aroma of coffee, chocolate, malt, and caramel. Bitter. roasty flavour, with notes of coffee, giving way to sweetish touches of malt, chocolate and liquorice. Mildly bitter and roasty finish. Rather hogh carbonation. I don’t quite know what it is. The label says Schwarzbier, Ratebeer says Baltic Porter, I think it tastes like something in between these two. It’s good, though. I hope it doesn’t kill me :-)

Great bubbles and mouth feel. The burnt chocolate and coffee flavors are over bearing though.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ Deans Winter Shelter Tasting, courtesy of worldbeertaste. Pours a near black beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma has massive coffee and licorice and vanilla. Flavor is rather sweet, returning most of the coffee and vanilla with the licorice and molasses fading in the background. Full on mouthfeel, very nice beer.

Black with a tan, thin, light lacy, lasting head. Smells of caramel malt like a schwarzbier. Lots of malt with caramel and raisins. Tastes of raisins, with sweet malt, caramel, with liquorish, and lots of dark malt. Leaves the mouth filled with a lasting dark chocolate taste. Nice. Not sure if it’s a Baltic porter or a schwarzbier.
