Schwarzbier - keine Angst! Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 500 ml bottle. Sable black pour, thickish khaki colored head, decent lacing. Aroma has a strong chocolate presence, a hint of olive oil. Bold, full-bodied flavor, with plenty of bittersweet chocolate, some hints of licorice, some briney, olive oil like notes. Thickish mouthfeel, Surprise find at Beer Stop.

Beautiful deep black beer with nougat colored stable foam. Aroma does not offer much. It’s probably because of the dense foam, but a little chocolate and coffee may well be tracked. Rather atypically smoked malt is predominant flavor. It should not be understood such that a porter may not taste of smoke, but in this case is probably a little smoke in focus with respect to the expectation from a porter. Hard roasted malt and coffee are the next flavors and there is no doubt that this porter explores the limits. It is a very robust and full-bodied beer, and it tastes really nice. If you like the classic porter, then you will probably be surprised by this. It is both schwarzbier, doppelbocks, smoked beer and stout at the same time.

Opaque black with creamy tan head. Creamy full body with medium carbonation.

Aroma: bready munich malt, clean rosted barley, cereal grain, pilsner malt, faint floral hops, minimal yeast character.

Taste: pilsner and munich malt, dry roastiness, cola, licorice, floral hops, tart acidity, slight diacetyl.

Great complexity and richness. More body then examples from further East, but very well balanced. Comes scross like a German immitation of a milk stout. Maybe a little too much munich malt for me. Very enjoyable!

5oz on tap at the Ei8ht Ball. Toasty, tobacco, dark raisin flavor up front. Plum. Touch of dark chocolate. Dark red / brown color. Thin ring of khaki head. Some nuttiness. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Moderate sweet taste. Light to moderate bitter. A decent baltic porter. Touch astringent. Kind of raisiny and dark fruity overall. Seeing the mild soy, mentioned by alexsdad06. Slightly ashy. Nice + flavorful, though.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild smoked malt, soy, caramel, some dark fruit, smooth roasted finish, medium full bodied, the soy is bothering me a bit.
