Schwarzbier - keine Angst! 5oz on tap at the Ei8ht Ball. Toasty, tobacco, dark raisin flavor up front. Plum. Touch of dark chocolate. Dark red / brown color. Thin ring of khaki head. Some nuttiness. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Moderate sweet taste. Light to moderate bitter. A decent baltic porter. Touch astringent. Kind of raisiny and dark fruity overall. Seeing the mild soy, mentioned by alexsdad06. Slightly ashy. Nice + flavorful, though.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild smoked malt, soy, caramel, some dark fruit, smooth roasted finish, medium full bodied, the soy is bothering me a bit.

Bottle at Craig’s house. Appearance - Nose - toffee, subtle smoke and chocolate backdrop. Taste - more toffee and chocolate. More of a suggestion of smokesmoke than an actual note. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - strong dark beers now merging onto one.
