COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schwarzbier - keine Angst!
Bottle, picked up at rewe in steglitz. Looks just like a dubbel, a rich shade of very dark brown ith a thin beige head; curious aroma of walnut skin, sour cherry and almond; loads of flavour - burning rubber, olive brine, sherbet, brown sugar, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Original and quite sophisticated

AshtonMcCobb (3552) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 21, 2015
Bottle at Craig’s house. Appearance - Nose - toffee, subtle smoke and chocolate backdrop. Taste - more toffee and chocolate. More of a suggestion of smokesmoke than an actual note. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - strong dark beers now merging onto one.

mansquito (3915) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 29, 2015
Associated Supermarket (Cityfresh), Bushwick Brooklyn ($5): Pours near black with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, some roast, and a bit of fruitiness. Taste is chocolatey, and a bit sweet at the front, with low amounts of bitterness. The finish is a sort of dull fruitiness, bordering on soapiness. That said, it is not bad. It is relatively well balanced and certainly a departure from your average German beer.
