Maria (3963), Thisted, Denmark Jul 5, 2008 Brown/black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, candy sugar and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, syrup, a little licorice, hints of smoke and a slightly dry, roasted bitterness. The body is nice and full/mellow, and it’s by far the best I have had from this brewer, that obviously has learnt from the difficulties in the beginning. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 1, 2008 50 cL bottle and from tap at the brewpub Autumn 2006. Pours dark brown with little minimal orange hue and a lasting dense tan head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Flavour is breadish and roasted malt with an underlying sweet note. Lingering medium sweet breadish note with a light smooth chocolate notein the far finis. cheeta (590), Langå, Denmark Jan 26, 2007 Moderate malty aroma with a touch of coffe. Large creamy initial appearance. Head color is off-white. Excellent lasing. Clear dark brown body. Moderate sweet initial flavour. Average duration. Medium palate. edelbrauer (16), Aalborg, Denmark Aug 5, 2008 Bottle, a reddish black beer with a nice dense and lasting foam, dark fruit aroma, probably from oxidation, again notes of prune and sherry but subtle, a good deal of sweet liquorize in taste and no real roastiness, so it is probably just colored with roast malt extract, anyway, it works fine here! Medium dry finish, good hop and malt balance. A little cooked corn (DMS) in the background though, otherwise a decent brew!! thewolf (3491), Kolding, Denmark Apr 2, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, Yespr]
Pours deep, dark mahogany with a medium, creamy off-white head - leaves good lacing. Aroma is sweet, lightly roasted, weak chocolate. Low carbonation, a little thin perhaps. Sweet flavour, lightly roasted, a bit dry, some hoppiness and a good, long, sweet chocolate finish. Okay brew, but a liberal take on a Mild...
