JoeinUccle (689), Brussels, Belgium May 8, 2008 Wow, a nicely balanced biére de garde, very drinkable and yet with plenty of unique character. I’m thinking that down below are some ratings of old or off bottles. Big thanks to Sebastian for bringing this 75 cL bottle to me. Tall, off-white and bubbly head recedes, over a thickly cloudy, coppery reddish-orange beer. Smells like caramel malts but also sweet oranges and a bit creamy, and I’m thinking of orange creamsicles. Interesting. Flavor is an immediately tasty and balanced combo of lightly sweet oranges and caramel riding along on lively carbonation into a dry, moderate bitterness. Incredible balance, so easy to drink. Really, really lovely. I hope to get some more and drink it fresh one of these days.

Lactic sour, green wood and hayish.
Cloudy orange, low head.
Lightish body.
Couldn’t really get used to it... Ungstrup (11353), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 24, 2004 A hazy orange beer with a small collapsing orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of coriander and yeast. The flavor is sour and malty - I’m wondering if it was over the best before date? Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2004 Hazy dark blond. Straw-like, dusty aroma. Pale malt notes in the flavour, with a slight lacticity in the finish. OK beer, but a little too yeasty. rickgordon (3073), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 8, 2004 Bottled.
Cloudy orange colour, pale orange/off-white head. Floral nose with a big yeast presence. Quite malty for being a ’Garde’. A bit sour and lactic. Dry bitter finish.
