MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Chick peas seem emboldened by the fat cereal sweetness in this sugary and chaotic attempt at a fruit-scented Golden Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the hazy, dull golden.
-The body is rather round but very loose.
-The fruitiness is not prevalent, probably overtaken by this DMS protrusion.
-I admit this may be the first time I get an off Barberie beer from the tap. They’ve had bottling issues before, but never have I encountered such an off product from their house tap.
On tap at the brewpub.
Lubiere (3146), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 8, 2008 Hazy golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, stinks of corn husks, followed by light spices. In mouth, a decent grainy malt, with sweet notes, not very fruity, with ight oatmeal and rye notes. Strange. On tap at brewpub, April 2008.
