3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2010 Aroma : Best part of this brew. Powerful fruity aroma propelled by the excessive Co2. Bananas, grapes but somewhat cheap white wine.
Appearance : Pretty golden robe, a bit orange on the edges, crowned by a rich foam that mostly disappears after a short while.
Taste : Classic blonde with a good hop presence in the back. Refreshing stuff. On the downside, it tastes a little like cheap white wine and a bit too fruity.
Mouthfeel : Alright mouthfeel. Way too carbonated.
Overall : All in all, a decent blonde, but a bit unbalanced by the hoppiness and the CO2. Still, pretty refreshing.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
In short: A cross between a yeasty blonde ale and the cheapest of white-wine. Berk.
How: Bottle 750ml. Age unknown, probably fresh. Left behind in my fridge by someone after a night of drinking. I swear I don’t drink Barberie brews!!
The look: Clear golden topped by a medium head with low retention
In long: The nose is yeasty with notes of white grapes. Taste is initially not so bad but with every sip the sweet the bad stuff was piling on my taste buds. Weird how it really got worse and worse. There is a basic yeasty blonde beer in there with also an ok flavour of orange cookies. But the bad stuff is a taste of cheap white-wine and also those sweet fruity shooters that they sell in stupid sports-bar. Berk! And to think a friend brought that expensive beer to my place probably to try to impress “the beer-geek”. Barberie really make some the shittiest beer in Quebec. I am too polite the tell the brewer to get lost. But given the opportunity I will however give him bad directions.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very nice beer, with a high amount of co2, hence bubbles. It is fresh and a nice beer to relax with.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 mL bottle. A lovely, clear copper-orange with a thick, off-white head. It fades, but never fully disappears. Lots of active bubbles. Fruity sweetness (peaches and sweet apple) with some citrus and grassy malt on the nose doesn’t add up to much. The grape shows up in the flavour and the aftertaste, and it’s more of a dryish grape juice than a wine flavour. The malt hides underneath, and is a little thin. A (surprisingly) little alcohol appears at the end. Quite heavily carbonated, and not as full as it should be. An interesting one; not great, but certainly worth a try.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
orange pour with a huge white frothy head. Aroma of sour grapes, white wine, oak, and ripe fruit. Flavor was tart, but not too tart, with some wine flavors, and some slight fruits.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle purchased near DDC. Orange-amber. Huge head. A slow trip along the tongue starts orange citrus moving to sour lemon cream in the middle with a chalky shivering finish. A quicker drink gets more comfortable. Wine is most predominant in the finish and aftertaste but does build through the bottle. Too small a sample would be hard to come to grips with.

750ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with huge head. Lots of carbonation on the glass. Aroma is spicy and fruity (orange). Taste is a bit dry (white wine like). Taste is light green grapes (white wine like). Low carbonation on the palate. Alcohol completely hidden. Interesting beer. Glad I’ve tried it. Rating #42.

750 ml bottle, courtesy of my brother - pours hazy yellow/orange, with some sediment. Wheaty aroma, and somewhat cidery too. Sour, but not off. Flavour of strong Belgian-style blond (Duvel-ish) mixed with wine. Bine? Wier? This is a strange one - not something I’d get again, but happy to have tried it out.
