orange pour with a huge white frothy head. Aroma of sour grapes, white wine, oak, and ripe fruit. Flavor was tart, but not too tart, with some wine flavors, and some slight fruits.

750ml bottle purchased near DDC. Orange-amber. Huge head. A slow trip along the tongue starts orange citrus moving to sour lemon cream in the middle with a chalky shivering finish. A quicker drink gets more comfortable. Wine is most predominant in the finish and aftertaste but does build through the bottle. Too small a sample would be hard to come to grips with.

750ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with huge head. Lots of carbonation on the glass. Aroma is spicy and fruity (orange). Taste is a bit dry (white wine like). Taste is light green grapes (white wine like). Low carbonation on the palate. Alcohol completely hidden. Interesting beer. Glad I’ve tried it. Rating #42.

(Rating #2216)

750 ml bottle, courtesy of my brother - pours hazy yellow/orange, with some sediment. Wheaty aroma, and somewhat cidery too. Sour, but not off. Flavour of strong Belgian-style blond (Duvel-ish) mixed with wine. Bine? Wier? This is a strange one - not something I’d get again, but happy to have tried it out.

Probablement la meilleure de la barberie. Malter, fruiter, un peu seche, effervescente. L alcool est bien cacher. Maybe the best beer from La Barberie. Malty, fruity, a bit dry, fizzing. Alcohol hides very well.

Bottle courtesy of glouglouburp. Pours copper with a nice white head. Smells of citrus, light pepper, dough, dry malt. Tastes of lemon zest, some nice dry malt. Mouthfeel is full with a nice tarte finish.

Bottle purchased in Montreal - clear, fizzy gold, with a medium-sized ring of lace - fairly faint aroma - some light white grape, a little bit of sweetness, and a very mild white wine character - tastes like some kind of wine spritzer - like watered down, lightly sweetened white wine - the alcohol is well hidden, until the beer warms, and then it’s pretty apparent - a little bit of lemony character, a little bit of grape skin - it’s not terrible, just pretty boring.

Aroma: mandarin orange, tangerine, almost kumquat. Medium/thick even beige head; rich orange color, effervescent. Pleasant Belgian styled beer. Light orangey sweetness. Moderately yeasty, medium bodied. Not really a knock-out beer, but considering how easy it is to make crappy Belgian beers, it counts for something that this manages to be reasonably tasty and approachable.

Orig. rating: 9-29-08.
Pours mandarin orange color; thin head. Shy aroma - alcohol? spice? Orangey flavor; orange zest, yeasty. If you think about it, it does also taste like chardonnay, especially in the bitter oaky finish. Also grainy aftertaste. Medium body, light carbonation, potent effect. In short, worth trying but probably would not buy again.

(Dégusté avec french tickler) Une biere de couleur orange brumeux, avec presque pas de collet non-collant. Odeur d’alcohol, un peu fruité, miel et oranges. Saveur un peu salé, alcohol et également un peu épicé.
