COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bière cuivrée aux arômes floraux de houblon frais. En bouche, le palais est envahi par une franche amertume puis est soutenu par le malt et le houblon. La finale est très longue et toute en houblons.

[078-20061027] 500mL. Smells like plastic pizza. Clear, brown body with lots of big bubbles rising through the centre and a big lasting foamy off-white head. Taste is of hoppy grains, medium alcohol, lightly ascerbic -- unfortunately, burping tastes like plastic. Medium bodied, bit of a kick. Not really into the plastic kick. (The upright half-filled bottle kept erupting foam up to ten minutes later, just sitting there! ha ha)

Bottle. The beer poured a hazy copper with a massive frothy head. Aroma is hoppy, with malt and caramel, nothing special. Taste is acid and bitter, not much aroma from the hops, this bitterness isn’t very interesting and dominate the rest of the taste. Medium body. Definitely not a good IPA, I wouldn’t try it again.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color beer with a huge foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of metallic hops is quite dominant with a small base of caramel malt. Taste of weird hops; dry metallic with a slightly sour finish – and light caramel malt doesn’t really do anything to me. There is quite a lot of sediment at the bottom and body is a bit watery for the style. Another so-so effort from this brewery.

Very nice poor... large lasting creamy frothy head... Nice tangy orangy aromas to it... fresh herbs, spicyness... Somewhat hoppy/ bitter finish... very balanced IPA... not the best but very commendable!

This tasted quite wrong. The bitterness and acidity reminded one of vomit. Has the hallmarks of a passable, IPA, but I can’t say I enjoyed this beer very much.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2007 Cloudy copper with a large long-lasting creamy off-white head. Looks good. Unusual (for an IPA) spicy aroma. Anyhow it does smell good. I should have stopped there and just look at it and smell it. Taste is weird, very weird. I can only describe as a fake fruity taste. Kind of mixing an orange artificial flavoured energy drink with a red artificial flavoured energy drink and adding some spices and carbonation. There’s also a strange bitterness with some hops flavours. This thing barely feels like a beer. The funniest thing, it’s not that bad. Actually it’s rather tasty despite its watery body. Different. Maybe I was drinking the new Gatorade Xtreme Hops.

utility IPA, quite drinkable. Brown body, significant and noisy head, some grapefruit in aroma , drying finish. Some malt offset. Grapefruit and astringency in the flavours,. Grassy hop,but a good amount of it- a pint is too much and had to be shared.

GregClow (2879) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy & tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Golden amber with a large white head. Mild, grainy aroma with some pleasant herbal hops. Flavour is pleasant as well - mellow to start, but the hops start to come through in the finish, along with some mild citrus notes. Subtle - perhaps too subtle for the style - but nice enough.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy bubbly orange with a small somewhat-lasting creamy off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with some spices and malt for good measure. Flavour follows the aroma and is not bad at all, it’s pretty nice actually. The hops came out more and more the further I got through my glass. Medium bodied. A decent IPA.

Gorbalev (2912) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2006
Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, GregClow, and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Light orange, big white head, soapy, creamy - looks good. Soft soapy spice aroma, with some citrus. Tingly light mouthfeel. Slightly stale and spicy/peppery hop. Odd grain/organic taste. Refreshing when cold. Hops come through at the end and on second sips - very citrusy. Not bad!
