Draught at brewpub. Pours a deep black with a beige head - really a lovely looking beer. Roasty coffee aroma. Taste is surpisingly bland upfront but with a nice roastiness with a hint of sweetness towards the end.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2008
2008-05-31. Black body with a creamy tan head. Very nice aroma, mocha and honey, sweet, coffee touched. Flavour is quite roasty, dry roast bitterness, and coffee roast. (6+) Smooth average to medium palate. (3+) Not bad, but the coffee and roast character is not something I care for in this one. On tap, Mondial, Montreal, Thanks DuctTape

Sweet honey and gentle raosted malts in the aroma. Opaque black with dense nitro head that lasts nicely and coats the glass. Chocolate and rasted malts with mild, pleasant phenolic spiciness. Thick and chewy in the mouth yet curiously easy-drinking. On tap at Mondial 2004.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 4, 2004
Opaque black with a huge tan nitro-head that lasts forever and the ever fantastic foamy lacing. Great nose where the buckwheat honey is really distinguishable and obvious, you can in fact easily tell each one apart from the other. Chocolatey palate is some nice spicing (clover, cloves) and a restrained hay field acidity. Mild, but still my favorite Barberie beer.
