Nose is barnyardy, lemon, grapefruit, apricot, and hay. Carbonation is just right. Crisp citrus gives way to raisin and stewed plum, then to toffee and coffee with the hops. A little bit of toasted almond too. I love the way the complexity of the flavors roll from front to back. This ale gives a faint sweet impression but is dry overall with good hopping. Absolutely beautiful. zebracakes (1219), Washington DC, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber with a frothy off-white head that diminishes a little over time. Aroma is fruity (orange, pear), malt (meal, cereal), yeast (grass, earth) and a perfume nose. Moderate acidity and bitterness, yeast and malt balanced body that yields to the floral and citrus rind hops, tart finish. Medium bodied and fizzy, dry palate. It mellows as it warms.
