pours cloudy golden not much head and very little lacing.aroma is upfront raw dough with overripe pear and bananas .flavor is very sweet, malt, banana and raisins.medium carbonation, medium bodied with an oily mouthfeel.alchohol is well hidden until the finish.has a nice bitter warming alchohol bite at the end.was expecting something close to a pirat but was nothing like it.very malty sweet like a quad and the yeastiness was always prestent from the aroma to the finish.fine example of a nice belgium ale.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a big white head and an aroma of toffee, spices, yeast, roasted malts, alcohol and hops. The taste is medium to heavy sweet, with some booze, unpleasant syrup and a tiny bitterness in the short finish. I don’t like this, jut a boozer.

Smaak is zoet en licht hoppig bitter, honing, rozijn, caramel. Blijft lang hangen. Geweldig bier!

Bottle from Det Bette Ølhus as Biere du Boucanier Golden Ale. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, dry apples and yeasty. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with heavy alcohol. Too boozy. 100614

Limpido color biondo con spesso strato di schiuma bianca saponosa. Aroma debole, leggermente maltato e metallico; gusto dolciastro, alcolico e rotondo con piacevoli note delicatamente fruttate e caramellate. Corpo medio-abbondante, effervescenza vivace, struttura liquorosa. Un po’ sgraziata ma piacevole.

Pale golden, cloudy color. Good carbonation, with a great durable fluffy foam. Fruity aromas (citrus and tropical), with malts presences and especially yeast and alcohol.. The atste is very alcoholic at the beginning, but then comes into some citrus and sweet malts presence, with a into a dry bitter aftertaste.
