Sample at the Aleksey Portfolio Show. Flavors of yeast and barnyard. Tart finish. Alcohol is hidden well.

pours cloudy golden not much head and very little lacing.aroma is upfront raw dough with overripe pear and bananas .flavor is very sweet, malt, banana and raisins.medium carbonation, medium bodied with an oily mouthfeel.alchohol is well hidden until the finish.has a nice bitter warming alchohol bite at the end.was expecting something close to a pirat but was nothing like it.very malty sweet like a quad and the yeastiness was always prestent from the aroma to the finish.fine example of a nice belgium ale.

330ml bottle. Absolutely the hugest white head I ever saw, shampoo style, but not for too long. Clear golden body, a little more intense than a regular lager, lots of carbonation. Aroma is yeasty, banana, coriander, hops, a little sourness. Taste is yeasty, a little sweet, with immediate booze heat, some breadiness and some hops. Probably the best from the tasters pack, just slightly, but a little too strong.

A nice Belgian strong ale. Very deceptive because the alcohol is hidden perfectly. Aroma was alright. Cereal, pilsner malt and hints of yeast. Pour was a nice cloudy light gold with a two finger white head. Taste was nice. Strong cereal and light malt flavors with a heavy yeasty bite. The strong carbonation brings out the yeast and slight noble hop flavor. I would not guess this beer was more than 8% ABV. Delicious, refreshing and nice

Pours cloudy goldne, white head. Aroma, yeasty, hoppy, some banana notes, really came off as as a typical aroma. Taste, hoppy, fruity (banana, vailla?), malty with some honey. Afine Belgian ale.

Arrrrr!

This one has more lasting head than the dark Boucanier. The smell is perfumed, floral hops and colour a murky blond. Heavy body that fills up a few breaths after swallowing. A good beer. Bottle in a gift pack at LCBO

Bottle. Pours hazy light amber with a frothy quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, yeast and fruit. taste is extremely sweet with the alcohol being well integrated. texture is syrup-like. Pretty cool but nothing outstanding.
