COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
energetic and full-bodied taste with sweetish pronounced tone, brown copper color and with a creamy foam of beige tonality, bouquet harmonious and elegant. Category "Belgian Strong Dark Ale", style "brown ale", this beer is produced with the method of the triple fermentation, means that it has three doses of malt more than the quantity used for other beers, added in three different phases of workmanship, like the last phase where the malt is directly put in the bottle or the keg.

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. Cool design, like Gulden Draak raided by pirates. Reddish brown pour with nice silky foam and lacing. Strong malty aroma, perhaps a bit too much raisin and brown sugar and not enough yeasty ripeness (as I tend to prefer in this style). Flavors are better, less sweet and more integrated. Not a top notch BSA but pretty good.

33 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours clear mahogany with a moderate tan head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of toasted malts, caramel, apple, raisin, flowers and a touch of spice. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout with notes of brown sugar, fruit, Belgian yeast and a touch of spice. The finish is moderate in length, malty and mildly spicy. On the palate, it is medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent strong dark Belgian ale, but not terribly interesting. 2013-02-25

Bouteille 330ml.

Bottle. Deep ruddy brown pour with a tight white head. The aroma is a little bit sweet with some brown sugar, fig and a bit of toffee. There is a little bit of hoppiness that adds a touch of earthiness on the back. Some light mintiness and a touch of pepper. It’s got a little bit of clove and some appley fruitiness as well. As it warms - more soft fruitiness comes to the fore. A touch of vineousness on the finish. Should age nicely - I like that the yeast is a little bit subdued allowing the malt to come through.

Pours a hazy brownish with thick head that diminishes way too quickly. This brew aromas consist of raisins, toffee, and just a hint of dark chocolate. Like the aroma, the taste starts out with flavors of raisins then fades to caramel with an alcohol finish. It has a small hint of sweetness but not enough to ruin this beer for me.

Pours sounding fizzy like cola. Dark brown that may seem a littl redish 1-2finger head. Smell’s of dark fruits and mabye some spiceness. Taste well I don’t know for sure but am thinking plum, fig, blueberry, grape, smooth rich maltyness, mabye a little spice. The way the malt is in this sometimes it taste like the skins of the fruit. Pretty decent beer but not my all time fave. I do like this cheer’s. 8/10

Non mi ha entusiasmato......bello l’aspetto marrone ramato, solo discreto il naso, con sentori fruttati e caramellati ma poco puliti.... Abboccata, corpo medio, un poco amara in chiusura.....niente di speciale....

Dark brown coloured beer with large diminishing brownish head and lots of carbonation. Malty roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is roasted malty bitter. Nice.
