#800. Gushed a little upon opening the bottle, lasting white head on a bubbly orange-red body. Nose consists of sour apple and grape while the taste is of mango and green melon with some spice, but not sweet. Dances on the palate.

TBone (9433) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 20, 2005
Bottled (BB 07/2006)
Amber, with the shades of red, decent, lacey off-white head. Aroma has malts, yeast and leather. Liquerish palate, but same time carbonated and smooth. Toffee sweet with fruits - medium-bodied malty with some yeastyness. Some late alcohol bitterness and sharp metals when it warms up. Quite drinkable though lacks depth.

My second Steenberge beer in a row tonight according to this site...33cl bottle, head formed and fell, leaving just a covering and a touch of lace. Beer is amber colored. Wierd spicy peppery, citrus terriaky sauce aroma...drinks with some toffee sort of malt flavor, with lots of fruitiness to it, and a peppery sweet/dry finish. Ya know, this really reminds me of a homebrewed ambree I did, Bastogne yeast, horizon hops, a touch of corriander...except mine was about 10-11%ABV, and a bit more refined than this...this is a pretty interesting beer though, the spiciness of it seems to be the dominant character...I mean, would you want to put cracked pepper on your apricot or peach or orange? Things just seem to be fighting each other here, to the detriment of my palate! And this has a pretty big body, and lacks much balance in the finish...what starts out with a little promise falters in the end...but not horribly so...it just seems misguided to me...

Foamy head. Malty and peppery aroma. Full bodied Peppery maltysweet flavor with hints of peach and cherry. Some hopbitterness, especially showing itself in the aftertaste. Tasty, this beer!

(Bottled) Hazy amber color with an enormous(!) white and lacy head. Caramely, fruity and flowery candy/bubblegum aroma with a hint of alcohol and berries. Sweet, lemony and toffee-caramely flavor with an acidic and quite bitter, carbonated finish. Hides the ABV well. Medium-bodied, sugary-sweet and foamy-carbonated palate. Slightly too thin, sweet and carbonated, but otherwise quite pleasant brew.

Cloudy orange/brown with a large white head. Aromas are doughy yeast, sweet malts with fruit and spices. Flavours are sweet and malty with caramel and candy, hints of saltiness, too. More doughiness follows completed by a dry and quite warming finish. Nice sparkle on the palate.

5000 (4113) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 30, 2005
Bottle pours dark golden, hazy, large white pillowy head, super sticky lacing, with tremendous amounts of carbonation.   Tropical fruit and flavored sugar (pixie stick) aromas.   Smells very sweet, candyish and fruit like.   Candy like sweetness up front, spicy, with a nice fruity malt background.   This is tasty!   Full to medium body, fairly medium mouthfeel with that spritzy effervescense (burp).   Finishes sweet, but not cloying with lingering tropical fruit flavors.   Unique and very yummy!
