A honey beer that never lets you forget the fact. Although there is only a slight trace of it in the nose the intensity of the honey in the palate may be a bit much for some people. This is an accomplished beer that oozes quality yet retains a small brewery taste. Also sold as Berenbier in Flanders.

I have got this one already twice @ Kulminator in Antwerp. I don’t know correct, but on the dust to see, it kinda looks vintage. It’s one of the better honey beers, there are kinda flowties in the beer. But, the taste is very indepet, texture kinda bready, no head. But it givis a feeling like a congac or something like that, the beer isn’t sweet @ all. Maybe this is the review of a vintage bottles, but it’s very good.

Trevlig men mindre honung än vad jag minns.

F: white, not long retention, average. C: hazy, non-transparent, yellowish. A: malty, estery, sourness, yeasty. T: Match supermarket Brussels, 0,33l bottle, much better than aroma, malt, dusty, hint of honey, wet paper, woody, medium body, lively carbonated, hint of apple/citrus, interesting, first sip like unbalanced but latter much better.

Pours clear blonde, small and instant fading white head. Smell is bit sweet. Honey, but not in a good way , on top of some malts. Taste is bit bitter, with again a honey sidenote. Not in a thick, creamy mouthfeel kinda way, more like in a sweetened tripel. starts of like an intense, yet one dimensionnal tripel, than the honey kicks in giving it a sweet sidetone. All remains very simple though. Oh, did I mention overcarbonation? rather thin mouthfeel. Not bad, no hate to this beer. Yet questions do rise by who would drink this cause they really dig it more than any other beer ? I can picture no-one. A very very common taste with some honey added...

Well, it smells like an old wet towel forgotten in a back for weeks, and... It kind of taste what it smells. Luckily, the taste is not strong, so after 5 seconds you can swallow water with a far away aftertaste instead of the initial taste.

Aroma of tinned corn liquid. Unpleasant aroma but still present. Watered down taste of the very same aroma.

Arôme de vieux maïs, mais très vieux le maïs. On ne sent pas l’alcool. Ça goûte le vieux, mais heureusement le goût n’est pas très prononcée.

Golden hazy with small white head. Very interesting taste, which is difficult to describe. Some kind of bitter and sweet mix with malty notes and strong presence if yeast. Neither like or dislike, but found it interesting.
