COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A honey beer that never lets you forget the fact. Although there is only a slight trace of it in the nose the intensity of the honey in the palate may be a bit much for some people. This is an accomplished beer that oozes quality yet retains a small brewery taste. Also sold as Berenbier in Flanders.

I have got this one already twice @ Kulminator in Antwerp. I don’t know correct, but on the dust to see, it kinda looks vintage. It’s one of the better honey beers, there are kinda flowties in the beer. But, the taste is very indepet, texture kinda bready, no head. But it givis a feeling like a congac or something like that, the beer isn’t sweet @ all. Maybe this is the review of a vintage bottles, but it’s very good.

Misty golden body with creamy lace. Apple, mandarin, white crusty bread and classic hops. Moderate yet pleasant Belgian aromas. Creamy mouth feel, active yet fitting carbonation. Light bitter, not as complex as the aroma. Light alcoholic back, light malts. Straightforward first appeal but there’s quite something to say for this brew after same sips. Especially good mouth feel. Nice. (33cl bottle at Le Strapontin in Tours)

A pale golden yellow coloured beer with a thick frothy white head. A light, musty slightly sour aroma, cereal and a hint of yeast. A dry fizzy mouthfeel. A strong, but pleasant sourness, yeasty with a hint of citrus fruit. There is a mild sweetness towards the end, biscuity and cereal-like and a touch floral. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark yellow/amber with medium persistent head. Aroma of cereal and honey. Very sweet. Honey and a bit of malt and a hint of ginger. Not my cup of tea.

Golden blonde beer with a quickly disappearing head and just the slightest bit of haziness, as it’s unfiltered. The smell is that of a typical strong blonde beer, quite refreshing thanks to the hops; maybe something sweet in there as well but then very well hidden. Medium carbonation; at first it tastes like a good tripel but it doesn’t take long before you notice there’s more going on than a one-dimensional, single taste: the honey (though fermented so adding little sweetness) can be identified. It’s a hoppy beer but never too bitter. The aftertaste is round, smooth, slightly sweet but still refreshing and with enough staying power to leave the impression of a strong beer. Quite complex, smooth, smooth, smooth and just the right touch of alcoholic warmth, more than medium mouthfeel. In summary: very nice, well balanced, refined and complex beer.
