A honey beer that never lets you forget the fact. Although there is only a slight trace of it in the nose the intensity of the honey in the palate may be a bit much for some people. This is an accomplished beer that oozes quality yet retains a small brewery taste. Also sold as Berenbier in Flanders.

I have got this one already twice @ Kulminator in Antwerp. I don’t know correct, but on the dust to see, it kinda looks vintage. It’s one of the better honey beers, there are kinda flowties in the beer. But, the taste is very indepet, texture kinda bready, no head. But it givis a feeling like a congac or something like that, the beer isn’t sweet @ all. Maybe this is the review of a vintage bottles, but it’s very good.

Golden hazy with small white head. Very interesting taste, which is difficult to describe. Some kind of bitter and sweet mix with malty notes and strong presence if yeast. Neither like or dislike, but found it interesting.

Light amber coloured and hazy. Has a white head, medium diminishing. Aroma is sweet, sweet bread and sugars. Flavor is heavy sweet, some nice hoppy notes, perhaps yeast too. Creamy, syrupy texture.

0,33L bottle (as a gift). Pours hazy golden with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fruits, apples, maize and some sourness. Flavor is sweet, sour, fruits, apples and a little bit dirt. Overall: ok-ish.

Bottle shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Hazy golden beer, off-white head. Nose is honey, malt, yeast, some mild wet cardboard. Flavor is honey, malt yeast, fruity notes, herbal hops and more honey in the finish. Odd mouthfeel - syrupy to oily to watery.

Typical Belgian honey beer, a hazy deep blonde beer with medium, off-white head and honey clearly incompletely fermented, leaving a sweet residue in aroma and taste, embedded in a yeasty, fruity, malty environment; soft herbal hop bitterness in the finish, with some lingering, but not cloying sweetness. Not the most complex Wallonian honey beer I’ve had but certainly representative for the style.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2015 Great honey beer! The name is so cool by the way... I don’t like honey beers generally because they are too sweet, and the taste/smell of honey is always too strong for me. This one is a great exception. First the colour is beautiful, cloudy golden brownish. Then the nose is great, with honey of course and a lot of chestnut. It’s a well balanced beer.
