App.: A lovely shade of copper, clear on first pour, small yellow-tan head.
Aroma: Starts with a bit of yeast and fruit, there is something really deep and very present, but I can’t quite identify it...like very dark burnt sugar or toffee, almost oily...?, roasted graham cracker?, a bit of coffee with sweet dark syrup in it; regardless, it is a very sweet and malty nose.
Palate: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a bit sticky.
Flav.: Not as interesting as the nose; the malt is dialed right back and there is a touch of cardboard; a bit of orange peel and coriander shows itself, light nuts and dried fruits, a bit of alcohol, a touch of hops; off-dry with barely a hint of bitterness and a finish of sherry missed with burnt sugar and a touch more hop leaf.
The dudes on the label are hilarious – I want to know their story.
