Commercial Description:
This beer looks like it means business right from the start. It is dark red brown with a good fluffy head and has a rich spicy malt nose with a few bitter orange notes. The palate has a big hoppy bite and a rich, fruity, dark coffee character, which tries to become roasted in the finish.

Bottle @ home.
Light light unclear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, alcohol. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. (Bitternes is citrus sour). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120508)

0,33 L bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: A lovely shade of copper, clear on first pour, small yellow-tan head. Aroma: Starts with a bit of yeast and fruit, there is something really deep and very present, but I can’t quite identify it...like very dark burnt sugar or toffee, almost oily...?, roasted graham cracker?, a bit of coffee with sweet dark syrup in it; regardless, it is a very sweet and malty nose. Palate: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a bit sticky. Flav.: Not as interesting as the nose; the malt is dialed right back and there is a touch of cardboard; a bit of orange peel and coriander shows itself, light nuts and dried fruits, a bit of alcohol, a touch of hops; off-dry with barely a hint of bitterness and a finish of sherry missed with burnt sugar and a touch more hop leaf.

The dudes on the label are hilarious – I want to know their story.
