BelgianBeerGal (862), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jul 23, 2008 33cl bottle. Good beer but not a great Belgian. Better than average but lacked real complex characteristics. Pours cloudy brown with a chocolate milk head. Pretty normal dubbel but maybe a little thin. Easy to drink and probably a good entry beer for trying the dubbel style. BoBoChamp (255), Gent, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, clear, small head, good brew, but not a topper BeerFanDan17 (331), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 20, 2008 Pretty tasty. Typical brune with pitted fruit, hops, and apricot specifically. Pours golden brown with a rich frothy head. kiefdog (325), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 12, 2008 Updated: Jul 13, 200875cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown to black with a one finger tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, candy sugar, molasses, dark ripe fruit, yeast, bread. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, earthy ripeness, dark ripe fruit, yeast and bread. Medium-body with a light sweet finish. Nice dubbel. Boutip (1725), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 9, 2008 Bottle: Poured a hazy deep brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists in light candi sugar notes with a light fruity ester and a nice Belgian malt backbone. Taste has a nice mix between a caramel malt backbone with some light candi sugar notes and some fruity yeast ester. Full body with great carbonation and no alcohol was detected. Very well done for the style and very refreshing.
