COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as La Binchoise Brune with a 7.7% abv. This beer looks like it means business right from the start. It is dark red brown with a good fluffy head and has a rich spicy malt nose with a few bitter orange notes. The palate has a big hoppy bite and a rich, fruity, dark coffee character, which tries to become roasted in the finish.

4/1/12 (no joke!). 750mL bottle... one of the very few beers left at my work that I havenít had before. Slightly hazy brown pour with a nice brown head that fades to a film but lasts forever and laces a ton. Fruity, estery aroma hits first with touches of sour and plenty of maltiness with a touch of caramel and roast. Malty, roasty flavor with touches of caramel and then a big spicy yeast hit with lingering fruitiness. A bit thin and light, but the alcohol is hidden well. Not bad.

Bottle, labeled La Binchoise Brune 7.7%, with a best-by date of 22/04/10 -- most likely way past itís prime. Pours a dark cloudy brown with a beige head. Smells of lighter fruits, and metal, with quite some hay and bready yeast. Tastes pretty awesome; a medium sweetness with spices reminiscent of a cinnamon cookie, and some mildly tart fruitiness. Medium bodied. Light carbonation. Ends abruptly, with a sugary finish.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2011 THIS IS A RATING OF A DIFFERENT BEER : La Binchoise Brune 7.7% 33cl bottle. Pours a dark red with a huge tanned head. Nose : Burned toast, some fruit notes like plums. Deeper I recognize a coffee notes. Sip : Smooth with a decent carbonation. Starts sweet then changes into a sour coffee like ending. In the meantime, itís a really well balanced with spices like clove and cinnamon for example. Itís a bit peppery too. Put apart the multitude of ingredients its easy to drink. Almost refreshing ...

750, corked and baled. Pours a murky dark brown with a thin but dense and creamy tan head. Big sweet brown bread nose, lots of molasses and gingerbread. Creamy medium body with beautiful soft carb. Toast, brown bread, and gingerbread cookie mid palate. Mild finish. Very gentle, pleasant sweetheart of a beer. Great for food and holiday parties, great training wheels belgian.
