COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Speciale Noel could only be a Christmas beer. It is a classic, warming winter ale with plenty of depth and a roasted, fruity malt character.

Presentation: 11.2 oz. stubby brown bottle, served in a 5 Rabbit tulip glass. Appearance: Frothy one finger head that goes down a bit but then stays there. It’s a deep amber color and leaves some great lacing. Smell: Very complex, with some fruit sweetness, spicy coriander and some citrus hop notes. Taste: Just like the smell, a great, complex combination of flavors can be sensed. Nothing is really dominant or overpowering, everything is balanced and the end result is fantastic. There’s some citrus fruit notes, complemented by warming spice and a hint bitter hop notes. An herbal taste with an alcoholic finish wrap everything up. Mouthfeel: It feels full bodied and strong with some good carbonation. Goes down smooth. Overall: This is a very well made and complex beer. Despite the wide variety of scents and flavors, everything is balanced really well, so it doesn’t feel messy or like it’s trying to hard. It’s a spicy and alcoholic beer (9% ABV), so it goes better with cold weather, but a great beer like this can be enjoyed at any time.

Misty copper brown body with bubbly creamy light beige head. Brioche, sweet sticky yellow fruit, tamarind, roasty malts and cookie spices like cinnamon. Fairly bitter taste, big bubbly carbonation accentuates this but I’d have liked a more darker, sweeter taste. It end fairly quickly. Bit disappointing overall. (33cl bottle from Cave Gambrinus)

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a moderate off-white head. Nice maltiness to it, though it has the characteristic odd sweetness of the Belgian yeast.

Bottle at home. Clear red-amber with a white head, some yeast. Aroma medium malty (caramel, notes of spices). Flavor medium sweet, light spicy, medium hoppy. Medium to full body, quite heavy carbonated.

Hazy, pinkish amber, loaded with yeast swimmers: it’s pretty low in carbonation. The head shrinks quickly, no big deal at 9%.. It has a predominant sour cherry aroma mixed with yeasty bread and little coco. The taste is sour cherry blended with a candied malt followed by a slightly bitter hop taste that evolves into a dry blend of everything. .The alcohol taste is present but it doesn’t kill it, at 9% it will sneak up on you, though!. This is an outstanding beer.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy gold with a quickly receding white head. Aroma of sour blue cheese. Funky flavor of sourdough and orange peel. Short finish.
