3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 330 ml. bottle at Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, MD. Hazy, burgundy with small tan head that did not linger long and fair lacing. Aroma of spice, orange peel, citrus, light fruits, honey, yeast, bread, sweet malts and floral hops. Taste of sweet bready malts, brown sugar, caramel, spice, orange peel, citrus, cherries, yeast and mild bitter hops. Medium/light body and light carbonation. (Hmm, I remember this beer being fuller in both body and carbonation with an almost velvety mouthfeel. Not tonight.) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a beautifully clear deep amber color with a huge bubbly beige head that takes forever to get to a manageable level. Smells fruity and syrupy sweet with lots of light sugars and juicy fruits. Sweet oranges, cherries, light brown sugar with a hint of earth to it. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Lots of lighter sweet fruits with hints of light sugar, and butterscotch. There is a touch of warming alcohol but that adds to the experience rather than detracting. Light spices and a bit of a quick finish. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. I’ve seen this a hundred times and never though twice about picking one up. Thanks Jeff for turning me on to this, I really enjoyed it.

Nice quality brew. Enticing aroma. Sweet caramel sugar, plums, prune and other fruit. Graham cracker malt. Rich and full flavored. Fruity Belgium beer. Dubbel aftertaste is superb. Light body. Very drinkable. If you like beers with a spicy plum character. Do not skip it.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
THOUGHTS: Wow. Passed this by for years not realizing it was a Christmas beer and after I found out it was, I didn’t see it again until now. Both sweet and dry. Hid alcohol incredibly well. Very sweet and fruity. Very glad I finally picked this one up. Ripe to overripe fruit. So tropical. It just kept getting better as it warmed.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium, almost glowing amber with beautiful carbonation and a small to average, off-white head that kept a thin sheet, but left virtually no lacing. The aroma was moderate orange and spicy hops; light to moderate earthy and dusty yeast; grape; apple; pear; peach;pineapple; honey; and slight butterscotch. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and slightly acidic; while the finish was heavily sweet, light to mod acidic and lightly bitter with an average to long duration. There was peaches, honey, apple, pear, grapes, white wine, pineapple, spicy yeast, dusty yeast, sugary syrup, a little pepper, just enough herbal hops to keep it from being cloying, mango and passion fruit. The medium to full body was sort of creamy, but also a little sticky on the lips and then very dry with lightly tingly carbonation and a slightly astringent and slightly alcoholic finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
