Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of chcolate, alcohol, and metal. The flavor is swet with notes of chcolate, alcohol, and metal, leading to a tart finish.

altonbrownd (3681) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 4, 2013
Bottle bought at Brussels Natural History Museum. Dark, murky chocolate body with an absolute gusher of a head. Nose (or what’s left of it) sweet, cloying, raisins, dark fruits. Taste is sour on the front, medicinal, raisins, sugar. Quite a Jagermeister finish to it. Prehistoric, indeed.

11.2oz grenade bottle. Unfiltered dark brown. Thin, glass rimming non-head. Big intense boozy brown sugar and dark fruit aroma. Sort of unique, pretty drinkable too actually. There is some citrus-like, acidic balance, not just a big dark malt bomb. Almost wine like under the doughy brown chocolate. Almost like a boozed out Belgified Doppelbock or Weizenbock with a touch of sour. Worth a try, but not exactly a great beer.

33cl from Dranken Geers. BB 12/2013.

From notes: Poured murky, cloudy nut brown, with 1/2 finger tan head. Complex aroma- nutty, with a strong note of dark candied fruit and a mild mustiness from the yeast. Full-bodied, with a touch of syrupiness. Flavor is sour candied fruit/herbal up front that gives way to nutty and bready yeast notes in the finish that linger mildly. The fruity sweetness subsides a bit as it warms.

Sample at the Twelve Percent Imports tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits on 4/20/12. Pours clear amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of bananas, candy, caramel and booze. Malty flavor with some dark fruit, followed by a bit of tartness and caramel with some banana mixed in.
