2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jgb9348 (3968) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Clear golden coloured body with a bit of a orange and peachish tint with almost no head at all - a small layer of off-white coloured head topped the beer ten seconds in, and completely faded away soon afterwards. Aroma of strong apples, alcohol, funky honey and mead, a bit of grapes and some wierd scents. Light-bodied; Strong apple and pear fruity flavours at first show off the strong fruit beer flavours with a lot of unfinished sugars and some malt peeking through. Aftertaste is more sweet than anything, but some strong cider and mead flavours come through with honey and yeast also noticeable. Overall, not such a great beer - and I wish I knew better before buying this and bringing it several thousand miles, but of course - you win some and lose some. I sampled this stubby 33cL bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 30-June-2012 for €2,95 sampled at home in Washington on 19-July-2012.

20/V/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: IV/12 (2012-525)
Little cloudy orange beer, small white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity, sugary, sweet malts, little vinous, maybe apples. Not too sure though. MF: soft carbon, medium body, soft creamy texture, I’ll give you that. Taste: sweet apple juice, sugary, some sweet malts, bitter, apple skin, cider like woodiness. Aftertaste: sugar, some tobacco, bitter, lime juice, some spices. Not exactly a beer, if you ask me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JorisPPattyn (7308) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 27, 2012
Small white head over fully hazy, well-carbonated orange beer. Cookies, oxydation (well within BBD), apple pie; faintly herbal. Sweet apples, again oxydized cookies or (fruit)cake, pinch of gingerbread in the finish. Acidity, probably fully due to the CO². Spritzy feel, medium bodied, bit creamy texture despite the carbonation. Oh well. Not bad, but tto sweet to be a refreshing easy-drinker.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5416) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 18, 2011
