4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottled, BBE 21/03/2015) Cloudy yellow-orange with a medium head. Strongly orange-fruity, honey-malty nose with a touch of pear and phenolic alcohol notes. Flavor is orange-lime-fruity with a syrupy-malty, honeyish backbone and some herbal hops with a spicy touch. Quite full-bodied with balanced, medium CO2 and well hidden alcohol. A surprisingly enjoyable and easily drinkable brew, although there may be slight bias as this was my first beer on a Friday afternoon after work. 5447

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Voila une bière belge qui ne va pas rentrer dans l’Histoire !
Quelconque de bout en bout, elle n’apporte que peu d’arômes et de saveurs et de façon très légère.

Pours a slightly cloudy peach colour. Subdued aromas of banana, and Belgian candy. Flavours are sweet malty bread with a noticeable lemon sour tang finish. Thin palate. Interesting. Not bad.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Who the hell would come up with this recipe and think, "Wow, this is good, let’s sell it?" Especially in Belgium, of all places. Sure, this is better than a macrolager, but it’s really not a good Belgian Strong Ale. Light copper colour, off white head. Faint metallic fruit aroma. Taste is a slightly sweet, quite metallic flavour, some bitterness. A bit boozy. Way too assertive on the palate. Kind of biting, if that makes sense. This is like a Belgian ale gone wrong.
Alright, waited a while. Here’s what I think is going on here. Too much carbonation. After letting it sit for a while, I get more aroma, a bit better taste. Original rating was 2.7. This beer still has issues, but not as bad as I originally thought.
