Bottle. Apple/melon malt and alcohol aroma. Hazy pale yellow color with huge head and mild effervescence. Mildly sweet apple malt and moderately astringent alcohol flavor. Moderate carbonation - easy drinking for a beer this strong.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 schuimkroaat (410) - Leuven, BELGIUM - NOV 26, 2005
33 cl bottle, bbe 2008. Dark golden, almost shiny. Hazy with a lot of tiny particles, very weak head. Aroma: sugary and very fruity (melon, citrus) with a phenolic touch. Juicy and sweet taste with slight spiciness and faint bitterness. Chewy, strong body. Well carbonated, unexpectedly teasing for such a solid body.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2003
This beer is brewed for Le bouffon du roi in Namur and is bottled. My take on this beer is the following: Blond, golden ale with good head retention and is opake. Alcoholic with some fruit but gives a dry finish. The beer is rather corse with medicinal notes.
