This brewery was interesting enough, featuring a nice beer store in which the beer was bottled. Also the medieval town of Bouillon is well worth a visit. I'm afraid that the beer weren't really up to par though: Dark amber. Dusty, fruity aroma. Dry with a light touch of vinegar. Clean hard mouthfeel. oh6gdx (5680), Vaasa, Finland Jan 26, 2008 Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour with mediumsized longlasting beige head. Aroma is yeast, sour fruits and caramel. Also some spices and some mild wooden notes are to be found. Flavour is mild roasted malts, some fruits, caramel and spices. All in a nice balance. As the beer warms up the sourness turns into a bit more acidic fruityness. Quite watery palate for a 7 % beer. MiP (4927), Flensburg, Germany Sep 26, 2007 Bottle, 7%. Quite vinous aroma. Muddy orange colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour is roasted, smoky and sour with a hint of orange. Sourish finish and thin mouthfeel. TBone (4924), Pori, Finland Jul 29, 2007 Bottled (BB 08/2008)
Amber color with decent beige head. Aroma of gooseberry, woody hops, licorice, plums and alcohol. Sour, woody and vinegar acidic flavors. Flavor has some fruits and berries - aspargus and oak. Touch of lime in the aftertaste. Seems that sourness is intentional. Weird beer. bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 29, 2006 Pours an enourmous head. malt, cinnamon and a touch of mustard in the aroma. Sweetish, caramelly flavor with hints of cinnamon and dust. The very first signs of a possible infection are showing up, but the beer is still decent. Yeasty bitter aftertaste.
