Unlabelled bottle at 19de Heikantse Bierfeesten. Cloudy chestnut with a small creamy head. Spicy, sweet, hint of sugar cane, cellar notes. Sweet flavours, notes of cellar, raisins and a lot of spices. Medium to light body. Quite a nice one from this small microbrewery though a bit sweet and spicy.

Delirium Cafe Hazy brick coloured, tiny off-white cover. Hugely effervescent, yet not quite building the foam to go with it. Spicy and yeasty nose showcases a mint and pepper blend as well as oregano reminiscences. Rather subdued maltiness, somewhat toasty, but neither fruity nor rich. Spice focused ale, lightly anisey and possibly coriander as well. Light citrusy finish seems to come more from spices than hops. I hoped for better from that brewery..

(Bottle 75 cl) Brewmaster Frédérik Magerat has a sweet tradition brewing a beer for his newborns - first Cuvée Nico and now the latest Cuvée Billy. Reddish brown, unclear with a very limited head - actually it’s almost absent. Very spicy - the label says three spices. I guess one is ginger, the second could be coriander and the third perhaps aniseed. Light tartness in the finish. Despite the high alcohol this has a surprisingly light body - actually it’s almost fresh. Lovely and unusual ale. 220505
