RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 4, 2008 Pours a slightly fogged gold with minimal head. Nose is strong with a tangerine/nectarine kind of thing. Flavor is beautifully hopped. It seems like the hops are well mixed with the Belgian yeast aspects. You can tell there is 9% alcohol on this one. It is a very slight detractor from the overall, though. Feel is very smooth liquid and nice on the carbonation too. Absolutely amazing beer. You don’t see a lot of IPAs in the Belgian style, but I would consider this an outstanding example. A complete travesty this is not mass produced. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 28, 2007 Rating #300. On tap at Rich O’s Gravity Head 2007. I am extremely happy I go the chance to try this beer. A great very interesting rendition of an IPA. something like a mix of Two Hearted and Hopslam with a nice touch of belgian yeast. well done. fantastic beer. toccata (70), grembergen, Belgium Mar 21, 2007 Orange to amber beer with a fine creramy white foam. Aroma is like a very good full boddied pils with lots of herby and citrussy hops. The beer is malty and very hoppy with lots of caracter. Taste is very tastefull and well in balans. Dry taste with lots of pils-mals and some cara’s, slight citrus accent and perfect selection of hops. Great caracterfull thirst killing beer. Grapefruity and orange notes. Yeasty and fruity hoppy flavor. Finish is bitter. Dry tasting. Well balanced. Medium bodied. Very drinkable. Wow. Excellent. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 21, 2006 Updated: Nov 1, 2006 Draught Good orangey tinted head, leaving textbook lace, over fully hazy orange-ochre beer. Extremely flowery, hoppy nose - this is Garrett and either he’s used masses of superb Europe hops, or a good deal of American ones. Dry and perfumey at the same time. Stunning!. Again very flowery taste, perfumey flavours, with dry, definitely USA-style hops, citrussy, resiny,.. WOW! No new aftertaste, but long lasting flavours. Well-bodied, grist slickness, resiny afterthought, lingering after every sip. Absolutely SUPERB. This is the final accomodation of America to Belgian beer. Love it! JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Dec 2, 2006 Tap at The Belgian Room. Hazy cloudy deep golden/orange beer with a very creamy white head. Aroma is very yeasty and spicy showing cardomom, cinnamon and spicy noble hops mixed in as well. Zesty fresh saaz hops along with American-style juicy tropical hops. Sweet orange peel, mango, a bit of wheaty character and a spicy yeasty flavour as well. Moderate bitterness, but great fresh fruity hop flavour from start to finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Very tasty brew. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 6, 2007 Draft at DRE. Turbid dark straw pour with some brownish floaties. Aroma of funky yeast, hops, perfumy spicy florals. Tastes caramel malty, hoppy, with funky yeasty notes coupled with some florals. Decent complexity, and very well made. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 24, 2006 Hazy golden body, small white head. Citrusy hops aroma. Sweet fruit hop flavour. Interesting combination, pulled off nicely.
