Sregnar35 (647), Rotterdam, New York, USA Aug 30, 2007 Average. Poured a mirky blone with a small head. Aroma very yeasty. Flavor was bland for the style, not terrible but didn’t stand out.
BoBoChamp (329), Gent, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew thegreenrooster (1447), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jul 18, 2008 Pour is a sickly looking brown with a small white head. Aroma is heavily spiced with some fruit and a big helping of candi sugar. Flavor is a nice caramel with a decent dark fruit and again with the spice. Finish is dry and leaves a nice toffee on the tounge. This is a very decent and well though out beer. Pompey (12), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jun 24, 2008 Surprisingly good. Copper to orange haze. Fine head, but not too much of one. I taste apricots and a hint of smoke on the start of the bottle.
Nice delicate hops. Just a touch of Belgian bitterness, an ever so slight touch. Not too sweet. Moderate mouth feel. Nice blend of fruit, wood/smoke (a hint) and malt. Alcohol hidden very effectively. Very pleased. Lovely slightly dry finish. 750 ml cage cork. I will buy again. Nice! nearbeer (1103), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 16, 2008 750 ml, bbe 03-2009. Translucent orange-copper with a large head that spews out of the bottle and then runs away. Sour acid and slight fruit aroma. Sour metallic flavor hits the tongue first, then hard candy tastes: lemon, peach apple, grape. Later some burnt toffee, orange marmalade, oak, woody herbs, earthy mulled spices, and alcohol. Occasional toasted nut and char on the finish is very nice. Near-medium body is watery, tingly and dry. jeanmath (8), Quebec, Quebec, Canada does not count May 24, 2008 bottle, amber ale unclear, with small head, taste lemon,a bit spicy. Balanced in hop and malt. Good beer, correct.
