Golden/orange, great white head. Citrus aroma, hoppy, with pine, banana and exotic fruits. Flavor brings pine, floral notes, hoppy, herbal, quite carbonated.

Bottle, sampled in a Chimay Trappist glass and a Gulden Draak tulip glass, it had a pour that was a clear dark gold with a little red (dark golden bronze color), and gave a three finger high head of faint off-white bubbles, the head receded to a half finger, the effervescence was pretty lively in this beer, and it left some lacing that rolled off as I drank, the bottle had a layer of dark sediment on the bottom, there were aromas of earthy yeast, mild dark fruit esters of raisin, some lemon-orange citrus on the nose, and faint floral scents, there are little hints of alcohol esters on the nose but they are in the background, and there was a faint cork fragrance to, the flavors were light raisin fruit with apples and orange citrus, a little brown sugar and citrus fruit sweetness, there was some spice on the tongue but I cannot pinpoint to what it was except for the pepper, and it had some light fruit and caramel sweetness at the start of the drink that ends pretty dry from the alcohol, the mouth feel was light on the palate, easy to drink, nice carbonation, alcohol dryness is felt on the palate, it had a little creamy feel on the mouth, I thought the aromas were better in the trappist glass, a nice drink.

Brown 75cl cork and caged bottle, opened and consummed 31st Jan 09. Poured into three different chalices, the last one getting the sediment. Very impressed with this fine amber beer, typical Belgian feel to it, full bodied, rich and wholesome. Good spicey aroma, with hops and yeast coming through too. The last chalice had everything you’d want from an Amber, but with an attitude, great beer. I drove past the brewery last summer, but its visitor centre was closed (it was too early in the day) and I couldn’t hang around, pity. This is the third beer I’ve reviewed from them and I’ve enjoyed them all.

bottle 33cl. clear golden, bubbly offwhite head. citrussy, lemongrassy tart strong yellow fruity aroma. wild yeasts, spices, sour wheat brew??, not what i’d expected. however, aoma is in fact pretty clean and quenching. flavor is sweet malts, yellow fruits, no tart notes, no citrussy notes. pretty strange. some flowery notes like honey, but nothing tart or sour. pretty ordinary belgian strong ale.

Bottle. Hazy burnt orange pour with a white head. Coriander and grainy cereal aromas. A little over carbonated with lots of grain, banana, over ripe fruit, and Belgian yeast notes.

Ottima. Ah!! Nasconde ottimamente i suoi 7,5°.

11/IV/2012 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ a random hotel in Folkestone - BB: VI/14 (2012-343)

Cloudy orange beer, some sediment floating around, big creamy light beige head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, touch of barnyard, some spices (coriander?). MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: little sweet, malty, grains, little bready, overripe fruits, plums and banana, some citrus. Aftertaste: citrus, grains, overripe fruits, bitter ending.

Non mi è piaciuta molto, una gasatura troppo marcata e forse la bottiglia aveva già preso un pò
