The cork shot out of the 75 cl bottle once I uncaged it, ricocheting off the wall and nearly killing my dog, who shrugged off this brush with death and ran off with the cork to chew on it. Little bastard. Beer is hazy dark blond with white head. Sweet, fruity, spicy aroma, with notes of apples, oranges and ginger. Whoa. Lots of ginger. Pretty sweet flavor with faint bitterness and boozy warmth. Spicy, alcoholic aftertaste. It’s begging me to hate it, but I can’t. It’s interesting and not terrible.

A Mes rate. Bottle at ZBF. Semi hazy gold colour with a decent off white head. Good fruity hoppage with some light spicy notes. A fair bit of sweet alcohol showing but it’s tolerable. Slightly acrid in the finish but the lemon and sugar pancakes to follow sort it out. Pretty decent.

Bottle @ ZBF 2009.
Pours muddy dark yellow with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has wheat, some yeast, biscuits, oranges; very nicely composed. Truly wonderful, frothy mouthfeel. Flavour is very complex. Vinious, definite wheat, Belgian sugars, ginger, yeast, oranges, lemons and a stunning, elegant hoppy finish. Almost an Imperial hoppy wit-bier?
