3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Serving: 11.2 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a hazy brown with a loose tan head. The nose has notes of dried fig, caramel, and a slight tanginess that reminds me of a Flanders red. No tartness in the flavor though. It’s a little more subtle on the tongue than I thought it would be. Brown bread, more dried fig, and a slight umami character. Medium bodied with a warming finish. Nice brew.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep semi-tranparent brown with quickly dissipating head. Aromas of prunes, dark chocolate and malts. Flavour is sweet and complex with notes of prune, malts, rye bread and molasses and finishes on a malt resin note. Lively in mouth and leaves a lingering sweet aftertaste.

Cold bottle. Hazy dark brown, really big head. Smell is yeasty Belgian ale. Taste is a little sharp, liquorice, cider, raisin, malts, spice. Frothy body. OK, below average for style though.
