4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brownish red pour, very hazy. It’s almost an orange colour when help up to a light. Very small bubbles in the head. Nice lacing. Nose reminds me of something fruity. Plumb I think it is. Its kind of weak but really appealing once you catch it. Very full bodied. A touch thick. A bit of a quick attack to the mouth at first that fades quick. A surge of spice and carbonation. It’s like a quick bite or nip. Then that mellows out very slowly and pleasantly. It ends very dry and clean. A very enjoyable palate. What’ I can’t really tell you though is the flavours that are in there. It’s all very subtle. Cranberry at first? A burst of sweet tart, like the candy with a bit of bite, cinnamon? Then it just mellows out so nice. It’s not so much the taste changes but just mellows out. Really dig this. Wish I had bought more than 2.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 11.08.2016
Hazy bronze body, holds a small creamy beige head.
Nose quite rich - burnt caramels, dark candy sugar, nuts, raisins, sultanas, dates, touch of cocoa, sweet spice.
Full body, richness builds, slightly syrupy, low carbonation somewhat creamy, velvety.
Has a bitter-sweet thing going on the palate - lots of rich dark candy sugar with earthy undertones, dried fruits in abundance, woody sweet nutmeg clovey spice cuts through, some leafy hop and associated bitterness in the works. Long finish, plenty of warmth.
A winter warmer for sure.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
