Bottle. Aroma is of yeast and fruit. Flavor is similar but also with caramel and spice. Doesn’t have much of an alcohol burn that I would expect from something that tastes like this. I read a review that said it was "complex, yet boring". That’s so completely apt. This was 5 bucks for a bottle, so I’ve got to say there’s no way I’ll be grabbing this again all things considered. But it does have a solid amount of alcohol (even if it could’ve been more)! And I still say it’s actually very, very good! I just feel like maybe there was some lost potential here, should’ve been a much bigger beer. 9% abv.

Un belle arôme qui annonce la couleur ;) Une robe sombre avec de beaux reflets cuivrés. Quant au goût on a tout de suite une belle saveur qui s’étend sur le palais. Une très bonne bière.

4oz on tap at Brass Tap - U Square. Clear red brown color. Thin, sort of light khaki head. Leaves good full, thicker lace. Bigger cherry aroma up front, and dark fruit. Some toasty mustiness. Touch of chocolate. Lightly spicy. Moderate to bigger sweet taste. Nice mild bitterness -- it’s presence it’s nice, this beer is not too sweet and syrupy, with a dry finish, but is somewhat mildly medicinally astringent. Medium to bigger body. Kind of slick. Sold belgian strong ale.

10 oz pour from room-temp bottle into tulip glass. Ruby/light brown, fairly opaque, moderate head. Nose is nuts, mulch, dark malt, and caramel. Taste has lots of caramel sweetness with a woody dirt taste. Nuts too. Pretty alright.

Dark brown with medium beige head. Rich deep taste with certain viney sourness, some roasted bitterness, hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste.

What a fantastic Belgian ale. Pours a murky brown colour. Aromas are vinous, dark fruit, sherry, tart cherries. Flavours mimic aromas. Sweet, tangy, boozy. Wonderful stuff.

Quizas la botella que tome estaba en mal estado, pues era la ultima que quedaba en la tienda y tenoa etiqueta algo despegada. Defraudo mis expectativas aunque tampoco era infame

Draft at the Brass Tap - U Square. Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate khaki head that heavily laces the glass and leaves a film atop the beer. Everything about this seems old. Notes of cardboard, muddled fruits (banana, apple, plum, berry), caramel, brown sugar, and mild spice. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a fruity, sweet, estery, imbalanced mouthfeel. Not my thing. Doesn’t work for me at all.

33cl bottle. 9%. Deep brown colored beer with a thin, but lasting off white head. Aroma has fennel, brown sugar, soaked raisins. Taste is more anise like, with soaked raisins, syrupy sweetness, licorice notes. Long sweet finish. Alcohol warmth. Quite a nice Belgian strong ale, sweet yes, but here it works ok, not overly sweet. High carbonation.

11.2 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Dark brown color, frothy off white head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel and some booze. Taste of dark fruit and your typical Belgian yeast, some caramel notes and some alcohol; good balance. a sipper but enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear chestnut body, minimal head disappears soon. Aroma has raisins, phenolic cherries, tomato and fructose. Very sweet taste with red grapes and fructose. Kind of like a cheap fortified red wine but less alcoholic. Finish has some burnt sugar. Very unbalanced towards fruity and sweet and the weakly roasty finish fails to cover this mess. No complexity. Too bad Nostradamus didn’t warn me about this disaster.
