The 500th batch brewed in the Caracole brewery, they decided to make a special version of the Saxo beer, with extra hops and some caramel malts. The result is this Saxo Gold.

It has not really persistent foam. The aroma of fruits and yellow flowers was shadowed by a very intense rose aroma, too much.

Bottle @ ZBF 2013. Pours clear golden with a small, creamy, white film head. Aroma is sweet, malty, apples, vinious. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, malty, sugary wheat, citrus. Fine malty bitterness.

Gold orange color, light thin bubbly head. Coriander and orange aroma. Burlap wit yeast. True belgian style yeasties. Overall taste is cardboard and musty blankets, but nice and well made.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2012 28/IV/2012 - 75cl bottle @ ZBF 2012 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2012-436)

Clear golden orange beer, big creamy off-white head, very stable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: pretty fruity, lots of spices, coriander, sweet fruits. MF: quite some carbon, medium body. Taste: spicy, coriander, sweet sugary touch, citrus fruits, bit malty, but mainly spices. Aftertaste: citric hops, nice bitter finish with spicy notes, little yeast on warming up.
