Wonderful Belgian blonde strong ale. Not too overpowering in the abv. Smooth and creamy with nice citrus melon palette. Pours beautifully.

Saxo has a very thick, foamy, white head, an initially clear, golden appearance, with tight bubble streams and some lacing. The beer clouds up once the bottom contents are swished and poured in. The aroma is of sweet, sugary malt, some fruit, like figs, and grain. Taste is of those elements, with candy sugar, grain husk, champagne, and some underlying alcohol. Bitterness is present across the sip, as well. Mouthfeel is medium and the bubbles are very prickly. Saxo finishes dry, sweet, and fairly refreshing. Overall, this is a most excellent beer. RJT

Bottle: Labeled as 7.5% Soft gold, thin white head. Fruity, yeast, aroma. Taste is sweet, lemon-drops, apple, honey. Alcohol is very well hidden. Mild, sweet, tasty...a hint of spice. Very nice.

StueyD (1166) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2013
A lively, hazy golden orange coloured beer with a frothy white head. A light aroma, yeasty sourness and a hint of lemony hops, a touch grassy too. Dry mouthfeel. An initial sourness is tempered by a fruity hop flavour, full of zesty citrus fruit, grass and hay! This all mellows to a mildly dry fruity finish.

Yeasty, floral and fruit aroma. Pours a clear yellow color with lighty head and good lacing. It tastes very sweet but finishes dry with some slight bitterness. The body is very light and watery but it hides the high abv very well.

Lots of perfume in this aroma. Smells like an airport duty free shop. Pours golden blond with fizzy head and minimal lacing. Finishes perfume sweet with touch of bitterness. Booze well hidden. A well-balanced beer that tastes remarkably light considering. Bottle from Spinnakers.

Hazy orange, amber hue, instantly gone big creamy white head, too bad.
Very sweet yeast nose, light apple pie, touch honey, esters, sweet spices and malts.
Sweet apple, yeast, esters, light floral, touch apples, honey, white bread, very light alcohol, sweet flowers, very light floral hops, bitter esters.
Creamy yeast, lightly fizzy.
Pretty standard sweeter Belgian Strong Ale but clearly above average. Very enjoyable & easy to drink.
(33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 2014 (month specified is “L” but no idea what that means.)
