wxman (431), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2008 Pours a very pale yellow with numerous fast rising bubbles, like champagne. Decent full white head, but am sure it would dissipate were it not for the continuous bubbles. Aroma is a sweet bready malt with some fruit esters. Taste is very much like a dry champagne mixed with a Belgian Triple. Quite good, but the dry astringent aftertaste is very much like having chewed an aspirin. This is actually very interesting and tasty, but I’m going to have to knock it down a bit for the aspirin aftertaste. I would still recommend to those who enjoy the style. BTW, ABV goes nearly un-noticed.
benwa420 (32), Aspen, Colorado, USA Jul 22, 2008 bottle. pretty big white head. hazy light amber color. good belgian style blond. little citrus in the taste. nice and smooth Ober (214), Best, Netherlands Jul 19, 2008 A little hazy yellow/golden colored beer, with a huge white head. It disappears rather quickly. The aroma is malty, very fruity and little spicey, with tones of yeast. The flavor is malty, with fresh fruits and spices like coriander. There is some honet sweetness. It has a dry bittersweet aftertaste. alex1012 (13), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Jul 14, 2008 Light and hazy with a big head with large bubbles. (I igiged a point on the big bubbles and loose head) aromas of hay, hops, spice, light citrus, kind of like a Saison. Flavor is malty but finishes dry with a medium Saaz hop presents. All around a good beer. I have had better examples of this beer a few years ago. Batches seem to vary. Worth a try but think about your options at $16.99/ 11.2oz a four pack. Unless your Bill Gates or something. hophead75 (1631), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 750 ml. Hazy blonde in color with a initially large head that quickly dissipates and becomes almost non existent. Nice, assertive aroma of light banana, honey, spice, bready yeast. Taste is sweet up front with honey, bready pils malt, and citrus esters, also nice yeast character: bready/musty yeast, spices. Medium bodied, with a dry light earthy hop finish. nearbeer (1101), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 27, 2008 330 ml, 7.5% abv. Slightly hazy, orange-peach color with a 3-finger, creamy head. Aroma is honey with slight citrus and resin. Flavor is earthy honeycomb with some of the beeswax, slight lemongrass, and resiny-woody herb. More hops in this one than the initial aroma and taste indicated: light citrus and wood in the drying finish. Light-medium body is too frothy with carbonation and finishes nicely dry.
