3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rajendra82 (809) - Alpharetta, USA - JUL 21, 2004
The beer came in a 330 ml brown longneck bottle that had a nice art deco label. The serving temperature of 46˚ F on the back label is too low in my opinion. I drank mine at 65 ˚ F to bring out more flavor nuances. The body was slightly hazy golden pale with a medium but constant carbonation. The head was rich and rocky and left a good deal of lace. Aroma was sharp and yeasty with some floral tones. The taste was well attenuated, lemony tart, and quite dry, with a lot of Belgian farmhouse funk. There was also a peppery pungency to the aftertaste. The alcohol was very well hidden and would never have been guessed to be as high as it was (8% ABV). This was one of the first arrivals on July 1st in Georgia, and I picked it up that day. Ironically now we have such abundance of selection here, I am finally getting around to it. Good things come to those who wait I guess.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BigBeer45 (974) - Michigan, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle, the label on the bottle listed 7.5% alc.,
it had a pale gold pour with hints of orange and yellow colors and barely a noticeable haze that disappears as the drink reached room temperature, it made a white bubbled head that receded to a ring and cover, and the glass had medium effervescence,
there were aromas of floral notes with yeast, light bread, pale malt, faint orange fruit with a fruit and honey sweetness,
the flavors were pale malt, light fruit – orange and peach(?), bread, yeast, and a touch of lemon citrus,
this drink started out sweet and ended dry, it had a dry finish with some pepper and a light sourness, a touch of wild flowers and herbs after the finish, the bitterness was gentle,
there was a little less than medium mouth feel, and nice carbonation on the palate,
an easy to drink beer, a nice Blond Ale, a simple Belgian Blond beer nicely done.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2012
Brown cork and caged 0.75 litre bottle, best before 12/2009, drank 01/2009.
Cloudy orange, lemony colour with a cream coloured head.
The smells were all about Belgian yeasts and citrus fruits all bundled together and given a big shake.
I found the taste and mouthfeel too fizzy and sour, the citrus element taking over to much. The alcohol is well hidden, but the carbonisation was too much for me.

Bottle.
Rich and aromatic. Honey, yeast, pleasant sourness, deceivingly light and easy drinking. Among the Duvel clones, this is one that is not far from the mark.
