La Carreta Dorada is now made by Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company of Kiln, Mississippi, and the recipe has obviously completely changed from the previous three reviews. This beer has no head, almost no carbonation, and a very cloudy, orange or pumpkin appearance. The aroma is of over-ripe orange and rancid vegetables; later the smell of caramel comes through in the glass. A very unusual taste of old wood and rancid barley predominate in the flavor, and there is almost no hop bitterness in this drink. Mouth-feel was heavy, and it was hard to finish this wood pulp. There was also a back-side tanginess to it. No, I would not care to have this stuff again. RJT

Like one previous commenter mentioned it’s very similar to Corona (or any mexican style beer). Of Dos Equis, Corona, and LandShark, this one is my preferred beer.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and pale yellow color. Aroma is lime, grain/hay. Taste is sweet grain/hay/light malt, some spice hops. Mild carbonation.

Very pale and clear yellow with 7up like carbonation and 7up like instantly dissipating head. Nose is a pleasant surprise, presenting an aroma of fresh sweet pale malts. Flavor is reminiscent of Corona, containing some of Corona’s "club soda-like" quality, but fresher and cleaner with a sweet maltyness and a snappy hop flavor not present in Corona. There’s even a brief hop finish.
